Guests will have full access to the home during their stay! There is a utility room in the walkout basement that is locked for some of the owner's personal belongings. There is also a closet in the upstairs bedroom that remains locked for the owner's personal belongings.

Set on Lake Charlevoix's quiet north shore near the small community of Advance, this home offers a rare combination: genuine lakefront seclusion just 5 minutes from downtown Boyne City. You get long stretches of wooded, low-density shoreline and real privacy on the water, without giving up easy access to town — restaurants, shops, ice cream, and the marina are a quick drive away, not a production. Advance itself is barely a village: a historic general store, a handful of homes, and not much else, which is exactly the appeal for guests who want quiet over crowds.
The rest of the area builds out from there: Young State Park (beach, trails, camping) and Boyne Mountain Resort are both within reasonable driving range for day trips, and Charlevoix's drawbridge and Lake Michigan beaches are a scenic drive around or across the lake.
A car is the practical way to get here and around the area — this is rural lakefront, not a walkable downtown location, so plan on driving for groceries, dining, and day trips. Downtown Boyne City is just a 5-minute drive, so day-to-day errands and dinners out are easy.

-Renters may use lakefront dock, but per Township regulation, only watercraft owned by the property owners may be stored or moored at the dock. Further, the dock is also shared among the neighbors.
