Getting Here & Getting Around
Wolverine sits at the center of Northern Michigan's best destinations:

Gaylord — 25 min
Boyne Mountain — 35 min
Nubs Nob — 40 min
Petoskey — 45 min
Harbor Springs — 50 min
Charlevoix — 55 min
Traverse City — 1 hr 15 min

Guests have full run of the house — all five bedrooms, both full bathrooms, the half bath, kitchen, dining room, living room, basement, and all outdoor spaces including the trails, yard, and fire pit. Hunting is not permitted on the 80 acres.

One room is kept locked for the owner's personal storage, and the garage is not accessible to guests. Everything else is yours.

I'm not onsite during your stay but am always reachable through the Airbnb app. Don't hesitate to reach out — I typically respond quickly and am happy to help with anything you need.

The property sits in the heart of rural Northern Michigan — genuinely secluded, with 80 acres of private land buffering you from the rest of the world. The nearest town is a few miles out, which means quiet nights, dark skies, and the kind of stillness that's getting harder to find. This is not a walkable neighborhood. It's a destination.
That said, you're remarkably well positioned for everything Northern Michigan has to offer across every season:

Winter

Boyne Mountain — 35 min
Nubs Nob — 40 min
Boyne Highlands — 40 min
Snowmobile trail access throughout the region

Spring & Summer

Pigeon River Country State Forest — 15 min (world-class trout fishing, elk viewing, hiking)
Sturgeon River — 20 min (premier fly fishing)
Gaylord golf corridor — 25 min (some of the best public golf in the Midwest)
Petoskey, Harbor Springs, and Charlevoix for dining, shopping, and Lake Michigan beaches — 45-55 min

Fall

The property itself is the destination — 80 acres of Northern Michigan hardwoods at peak color, plus hunting access on site
Pigeon River elk rut — 15 min

Year Round

Gaylord for groceries, dining, and breweries — 25 min
Petoskey for a full day out — 45 min
Traverse City for a longer excursion — 1 hr 15 min

A personal vehicle is essential — this is rural Northern Michigan and there is no public transportation. A standard car handles the property and surrounding roads fine in most conditions, though a 4-wheel drive or AWD vehicle is strongly recommended in winter months. Stock up on groceries in Gaylord (25 min) before heading to the property — Wolverine itself is a small village with limited services.

WiFi is currently being installed at the property and will be available soon — we'll update the listing as soon as it's live. For now, Wolverine gets reasonable cell service and the property is the kind of place where unplugging is half the point anyway.

The owners use this property periodically, so you may find some personal belongings around the house. Anything left out and accessible is yours to enjoy during your stay.
